(The Hosting News) – Data Foundry, a leading provider of wholesale and retail data center outsourcing, colocation, and disaster recovery services, announces that it is hosting a Groundbreaking ceremony on August 3rd, 2010 at the site of its newly planned Austin Data Center (ADC2), a 250,000 square foot data center to reside on its new Data Ranch campus in Austin, TX.  Phase one of the data center build includes a 130,000 square foot facility scheduled to be completed 2Q 2011.  The facility, designed from the ground up, will provide state-of-the-art colocation, data center and disaster recovery services to support both the demand and growth of Data Foundry’s existing client base and attract new companies.

Data Foundry’s second Austin data center, the master planned ADC2, will reside on the Data Ranch, a 40 acre campus in Central Texas, near Austin Bergstrom International Airport. With capabilities for 100 megawatts of power, the premium Data Ranch campus includes end-to-end underground power feeds from diverse substations; dual diverse entry points for power, telecom, and water; and availability of over 15 telecom providers. This Data Ranch infrastructure is incorporated into the design of the ADC2.  The 130,000 square foot first phase is Tier III designed with fully enclosed indoor UPS and generator systems, as well as concurrently maintainable power and cooling systems. The ADC2 will be optimized for client disaster recovery and back up requirements, along with its ability to serve primary colocation needs.

“This Groundbreaking ceremony marks the beginning of construction on our new premium Data Center at the Data Ranch Campus,” states Edward Henigin, Chief Technology Officer of Data Foundry. “The event celebrates the community it will serve and the opportunities afforded through its next-generation design and multi-megawatt power capabilities.  This mission critical infrastructure is key to attracting large Enterprise and service providers considering Texas for their expansions.”

The flexible design of the ADC2 can support customers with requirements for a single cabinet up to multi-megawatt deployments as well as worksite recovery stations.  Customized options to suit customers’ needs include private data suites built with fully-enclosed hard walls starting at 2,500 square feet – all staffed 24/7/265 by trained security and engineering teams.

“We welcome Data Foundry’s new premium data center building to the Austin area,” states Michael Rollins, President of Austin Chamber of Commerce.  “With their over sixteen years of experience and highly trained engineering team, we are confident the data center will serve as a draw for regional and national companies. Austin’s central location away from threat of hurricane and natural disasters, coupled with a large base of high tech talent make this a prime location for a world-class data center.”

(The Hosting News) – M5 Hosting, a worldwide leader in customized, high performance Linux and BSD dedicated server hosting solutions, announced today it has begun operations at its new data center at 9305 Lightwave Ave. in San Diego. It is the company’s second data facility.

By adding the second facility, M5 Hosting is able to introduce a variety of important new services, including off-site data backup and multi-location redundancy for dedicated server customers. The facility is owned by American Internet Services, the largest data center provider in San Diego.

M5 Hosting will maintain a dedicated high-speed data connection between its two facilities, which can be quickly scaled to 10Gbps or more to accommodate higher bandwidth needs if required. New customers will be able to select their preferred data center when ordering their dedicated servers. M5 Hosting’s existing data center is located approximately 10 miles from the new facility at 9725 Scranton Road, San Diego, in the San Diego Tech Center.
