( The Hosting News ) SingleHop, a Chicago-based dedicated and managed web hosting provider, today announced the planned launch of its new Cascade cloud hosting platform. Cascade will consist of several new cloud services that will be rolled out this spring.

SingleHop’s Cascade program is named for a skydiving term, which describes two lines that run together into a single line. Vice President of Communications, Dan Salcedo, commented that “the name of the program is relevant, because our goal here has been to develop a cloud product that integrates exceptionally well with dedicated servers.

“Cascade is the most exciting announcement that we’ve had to date, and we feel is a real game changer to the dedicated server market. Our approach with Cascade is new and we are confident that it will be the answer to what’s been missing from both the cloud computing and dedicated hosting markets. It will do so by offering an inexpensive upgrade to dedicated servers that integrates the benefits and minimizes the issues of both technologies. We’re expecting a huge adoption rate from our clients.” says SingleHop President and CEO Zak Boca.

(The Hosting News)  –  Web hosting provider ServInt, today announced it is donating hosting services for the new philanthropic effort Indie Music for Haiti (www.indiemusicforhaiti.com).

The new site from Maryland-based music studio Asparagus Media allows independent musicians to submit video clips of recent performances, new songs written for or about the crisis, and other video content designed to promote charitable giving to Haitian relief. The site is structured to make submitting content simple, and allows artists to easily direct viewers to the charity of their choice.

To mark the launch of the site, ServInt was a major supporter of the successful Indie Music for Haiti fundraising concert Feb. 2nd at the popular Washington, DC music venue DC9. The event, which featured performances by artists including Tommy T of Gogol Bordello, raised several thousand dollars for the relief group Voice of Haiti (www.voiceofhaiti.org). One of the highlights of the event was an appearance by ServInt CEO and Founder Reed Caldwell, who flew in from ServInt’s Los Angeles office to announce that ServInt would match all donations made at the event.

All the performances from the Feb. 2nd event were filmed in high definition, and are among the first clips anchoring the content at Indie Music for Haiti.

“A huge part of the worldwide music industry isn’t affiliated with any mainstream music label. We’re giving these kinds of artists and their fans a place to congregate and make a positive difference for a devastated nation,” said Asparagus Media President Fritz Stolzenbach.

ServInt Chief Operating Officer Christian Dawson said, “With the potential to showcase hundreds of high-quality music-video files, Indie Music for Haiti will require a large amount of bandwidth and continuous monitoring to ensure reliable performance. ServInt will deploy all necessary hosting resources to guarantee an optimal user experience and give thousands of music fans the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing relief effort in Haiti.”

Dawson added, “ServInt has a long, successful association with some of the nation’s most progressive technology, music, art and literary communities. We expect to make additional announcements later this year, detailing our support for selected organizations that are helping to drive the economy, enlighten the general public and provide assistance to those in need.”

PacificHost, a provider of linux based, shared and reseller hosting announced earlier today the launch of it’s Premium Hosting service. The service will allow consumers with resource intensive websites to run their website without the high paying cost having a private server.

The service is based on a shared hosting platform however fewer accounts are put on the server, thus allowing more CPU and RAM for websites that require extra processing power. Starting at $15.95/month, the Premium Hosting plans is the next step if a website is too resource intensive for a regular shared hosting enviroment.

“The Premium Hosting provides an additional platform for our clients to move to if they outgrow our shared hosting. The plans offer a different level of CPU allotment depending on the plan and are perfect for those fast growing video sharing sites.” said Thomas Perry, the President and CEO of PacificHost.

Prices start at $15.95/month with the Premier plan, $25.95 for the Business plan and $35.95/month for the Enterprise plan. All plans come included with features such as LiteSpeed Technology, AIM Support, FFmpeg Hosting, daily account backups and more all running on the cPanel platform.

In combination with the launch of it’s Premium Hosting service, PacificHost announced last week the addition of LiteSpeed and FFmpeg to it’s hosting services. LiteSpeed decreases page loading time for visitors. FFmpeg allows clients to convert video to FLV format, allowing them to run video sharing websites similar to YouTube.

PacificHost, a provider of linux based, shared and reseller hosting announced earlier today the relaunch of PacificHost Web Hosting Services. PacificHost was originally formed in January of 1999 with the intent to sell internet hosting, website design and dial-up internet service. PacificHost recently changed hands and is now under new ownership.

“My experience with previous hosting companies allowed me to re-launch PacificHost as a new and upcoming hosting service. I’m approaching the market from a different angle with a specific target towards the Joomla and FFmpeg based markets, which should allow PacificHost to grow rapidly over the next year, despite the turning economy.” said Thomas Perry, the President and CEO of PacificHost.

Among the unique features being offered by PacificHost includes LiteSpeed which is free on all web and reseller hosting plans. LiteSpeed is a new Web Server Technology that reduces server load and is optimized to serve web pages up to 9x faster than Apached based hosts. “I’m offering a few things that will make PacificHost stand out from the crowd, one of which includes LiteSpeed. The servers also support FFmpeg and all the related modules. FFmpeg will allow clients to effectively run their own youtube or video sharing site. It is a collection of these unique features and offerings that will help PacificHost set itself apart from other competitors.” said Mr. Perry.

Over the next several months PacificHost plans to seek out new Affiliates for it’s Affiliate program, offering payouts up to $125 per commission. The company also is seeking partnerships from various script developers and website owners for exclusive hosting offers and coupons.

Manchester based DNS firm Dynamic Network Services Inc. (Dyn Inc.), released information regarding it’s acquisition of EveryDNS, a DNS service provider. Dyn Inc also stated that it would be re-launching it’s trademark home/SMB brad, DynDNS.com. Dyn Inc will also provide e-mail support to EveryDNS users during domain migrations to DynDNS Custom DNS service.

“We obsess everyday over how to better serve our customers. This is an extremely strategic and monumental move for our organization. We aim to be the only authoritative DNS service provider with a DNS solution for everyone, from the home user to the enterprise,” commented Jeremy Hitchcock, Dyn Inc. CEO. “The acquisition of EveryDNS immediately and significantly expands the number of domains under our trusted watch and helps continue the consolidation in our space. Today is a banner day in the history of Dyn Inc. and a noteworthy day for the DNS industry as a whole.”

“We love catering to the hard core technologist,” said Kyle York, Dyn Inc. VP, Sales and Marketing. “Go to any technology conference, from Interop to Web 2.0, and attendees are familiar with DynDNS.com. The purpose of the re-launch is to make Dyn Inc.’s technology accessible to a broader audience, to let more people see how the technology can be used and to allow our users to connect with one another.”

“In 2010, we’re looking to expand our reach and help not only the elite DNS geeks, but broaden the types of users who can benefit from our services. Just look around CES, everyone wants to see their web cam while away or to be able to change their home DVR recording schedule while they are at work. Today, many people don’t know that Dynamic DNS is a technology that powers remote connectivity for applications. In 2010 they will,” said Cory von Wallenstein, VP, Product Management at Dyn Inc.

“We are especially excited that the re-launch of DynDNS.com has arrived just in time to welcome the over 300,000 domains and 100,000 users that EveryDNS supported on its service. The DynDNS community, including our passionate in-house DNS experts and incredibly engaged user base, is pumped to welcome our newest members,” added York.

EveryDNS founder David Ulevitch is highly respected as a DNS industry mainstay. His selection of Dyn Inc., among several potential suitors, solidifies Dyn Inc.’s position as the leader in the home/SMB market. “I chose Dyn Inc. as the home for all 300,000 EveryDNS users because of Dyn’s great people, great customer support and great technology on DynDNS.com and the Dynect Platform. I’m confident the EveryDNS user base will benefit from this acquisition in both the near and long-term and I’m excited to work with Dyn Inc. on what will be a very smooth transition.”
